Our Family protection dogs Pledge to You:
We treat each dog as one of our own, which means we take the time to go above and beyond training. We make sure your dog is functional in everyday situations and will be your best companion, even when protection isn’t needed.
Our training is designed to build each dog up, not bring the dog down; we want a happy confident dog, not an oppressed dog that has been trained too hard.

Before our protection-trained dogs are available for sale, they go through the following program phases:
Pre-Buying Phase
Our head trainer selects the finest German Shepherds and Belgian Malinois from breeders in Europe. We ensure that each protection dog in our program meets the following criteria:
- Good health
- A strong nervous system
- Excellent protection ability
Transition Phase
During this phase, our trainer spends time with the dog, getting to know him/her and building a relationship. After our head trainer has selected a dog, the dog travels from Europe to our training center in Roscrea, Ireland. When the dog arrives, we let him/her acclimate to the new environment. During this time we don’t begin training yet. Instead, we see how the dog transitions to our training center.
Assessment Phase
After the dog has settled into our routine, we begin an evaluation to determine which program makes the most sense for that dog. We custom fit the training plan for each new dog, deciding what’s best so we can take that dog to the highest level of training and maximum potential.
Elementary or “Foundation” Phase
During this phase, we begin to condition the dog to our training… working on imprinting obedience as well as protection. We work on getting the dog to turn on and off in a command as well as strategic targeting, fighting skills, and overcoming various obstacles. This work includes:
- Training exercises in both obedience and protection
- A balance of work and play
- Appropriate timing through each level
- Motivation
Integration Phase
After the dog has been taught obedience and protection commands, we take the training to the next level by reinforcing each command in numerous environments to ensure the training works anywhere.
We also work on quicker responses to commands so they become second nature to the dog, with no lag time. Instead of our dogs hearing the command, thinking for a moment, and then responding, our dogs respond with the command.
We simulate every scenario we can think of and work with the dog to make sure our training is functional and reliable.

Finishing Phase
This is a maintenance phase where we continue to test the functionality of our training and make sure results are lasting.
To make sure the dog is completely sound in every aspect, we continue practicing different protection scenarios that test every aspect of the dog’s training… going beyond just obedience and protection.
In addition, our dogs have had extensive training in the house, in public and in the car. Many dogs on the market have never left a kennel, and for this reason when those dogs go to live in the house, they still act like they’re living in a kennel. They’ve never known another way.
